Besides quiet and clean boating, electric boating is also very comfortable because of the convenience that an electric drive offers. An electric drive is very easy to use, one push on the button and you can start boating. You don't have to think about how far you can go, because the configuration is tailored to your boating profile. When exploring a village or doing some shopping, it is smart to connect the electric boat to the shore power. By "recharging" in between you increase your boating range, you can boat further or stay longer in nature. This way you can make double use of your mooring time, also when you are having a cup of coffee somewhere.
A clean and sustainable world There are already more and more electric cars on the road. Also electric boats can make a considerable contribution to a cleaner and sustainable world. For example, three electric charter yachts provide already a CO2 reduction of almost 30 tonnes of CO2 per year. This is roughly equivalent to over 250,000 car kilometres at 120.5 grams of CO2 per kilometre (average emissions from the European car fleet). Efficient E-motor The electric drive consists of a powerful e-motor and battery pack that powers the engine and also provides the hotel function with electricity. The E-motor is efficient because it directly transfers power to the propeller. The demanded power to the propeller is very precisely delivered by the E-motor. Very important is the construction and control of the engine. For a wide boating area, our engine works super efficiently and... this is reflected in how far you can boat with power from the battery pack.
Maintenance An e-motor is (almost) maintenance free as it requires far less annual maintenance than a diesel engine because there are fewer moving parts and no filters to replace.
Safe batteries The batteries can be charged with standard shore power. For our yachts we use LiFePo4, these batteries have a low temperature system between 20-30 degrees Celsius. In case of unexpected damage, such as fire, the batteries will not explode or ignite. In addition, these batteries have a particularly long lifetime.
100% electric boating - what is the boating range? The boating range depends on the type of boat and the size of the battery pack that is installed. Our drives are customer specific, we base the electric configuration on your boating area, boating profile, and special wishes. For example, we offer a configuration if you usually cruise on canals and Dutch lakes that is different if you always cruise on large rivers.
Hybrid boating with a range extender It is also possible to generate your own power on board. This can be done with a traditional diesel generator or with our zero emission and silent fuel cell. The methanol fuel cell produces green power on board whenever and wherever you need it.
