With Natural Yachts and Electric Ship Facilities we choose to not participate in Black Friday; but instead we want to celebrate Conscious Friday. As we are committed to accelerating the transition to a sustainable water sport driven by zero emission innovative technology.

Global warming is having a major impact, leading to extreme weather conditions such as floods, forest fires and melting ice caps. Tourism is responsible for 8% of the global emissions.

With our family businesses Natural Yachts and Electric Ship Facilities we want to showcase that sustainable and zero emission tourism is possible. Not in the future, but already now.

A sustainable alternative

To buy or charter an electric boat without emissions, you are not only making a better choice for the planet and an healthier choice for the people on board or boating in your direct environment but it is also a very comfortable way of travelling and exploring.

Zero emission boating

Zero emission boating

We would like to illustrate the difference in CO2 emissions comparing a conventional diesel charter boat with 25 weeks of boating per season and the Northman 1200 Electric with zero emissions. We have calculated this with an average of 35 boating hours per week and 12 hours of use of the diesel generator per week. This results in a reduction of 15.677 kg CO2 per boating season.

To indicate how much this is, a tree will store 20 kg of CO2 per year. In this case we need 784 trees to compensate 1 diesel charter boat with 25 weeks of boating.

Healthier boating

CO2 is often used as a parameter for fossil fuels. However, the combustion of fossil fuels also releases nitrogen oxides (Nox). This is harmful to the environment, and nitrogen dioxide can also be harmful to humans. It can cause respiratory problems and infection because it can penetrate into the smallest branched of the respiratory tract.

Electric boating is healthier boating

Natural Harbour – on our way to a zero emission harbour

In 2023 we moved with Natural Yachts and Electric Ship Facilities to a new location and started the Natural Harbour. Step by step we are renovating the Natural Harbour with our goal in mind of a zero emission harbour. Last year, we renovated and isolated the roofs. This year we have managed to improve and instal the e-infrastructure. For the start of the next boating season we are preparing a solar installation on the roofs and battery energy storage container to be able to charge all the electric (charter) boats in peak times with solar generated electricity.

Not only for our boats and the innovative technology we are making conscious choices also for our location, the Natural Harbour we are on our way to create a zero emission alternative.

A conscious choice

Not only for our boats and the innovative technology we are making conscious choices also for our location, the Natural Harbour we are on our way to create a zero emission alternative.
